Teoscar Hernandez is arguably one of the game's most underrated sluggers, even after he helped lift the Dodgers to a championship in 2024. Signed to a one-year, $23.5 million contract last winter, he popped a career-high 33 homers with 99 RBI during the regular season, both second on the team to Shohei Ohtani. Hernandez has now reached 25 homers in each of the last five full MLB seasons, and he's driven in 90-plus in three of the last four years. The outfielder hits the ball so hard that he's rarely a batting-average drain despite a K rate of nearly 30 percent for his career, while his defensive deficiencies are not enough to cost him playing time, at least not at this stage. The steals are the cherry on top from a fantasy standpoint, but it would not be a surprise if he fell back to single digits in 2025. Expect him to hit in the heart of the order for Los Angeles once again after he re-upped on a three-year, $66 million deal in late December.

Hernandez put the Dodgers on the board with a solo shot in the second inning and added an RBI single in the fifth. The veteran outfielder is slashing .289/.357/.526 during the exhibition slate, and he also went 1-for-8 with a walk and an RBI during the Dodgers' season-opening two-game set in Tokyo, Japan against the Cubs. Hernandez re-signed with the World Champions on a three-year deal last December and could see plenty of RBI opportunities batting cleanup behind Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman most games this season.

Hernandez has been very open about his desire to remain with the Dodgers since winning the World Series during his first season in Los Angeles, and the two sides have now officially worked out a deal to keep him in town for a few more years. The 32-year-old is coming off a regular season in which he slashed .272/.339/.501 with a career-high 33 homers, 84 runs scored, 99 RBI and 12 stolen bases. He'll presumably reprise his role as the Dodgers' everyday left fielder and will be surrounded by All-Stars in the starting lineup, making Hernandez a coveted fantasy asset once again heading into 2025.
