Angels' Jo Adell: Knocks fifth homer
Adell went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Orioles.
Adell is clawing back some playing time with power -- he's homered three times over his last five games. All of those long balls have been solo shots, but it's part of a 5-for-14 run at the plate in that span. The outfielder is up to five homers, 17 RBI, eight runs scored, one steal and a .200/.236/.381 slash line through 32 contests. Adell's numbers wouldn't warrant a full-time role if the Angels' outfield was fully healthy, but the team is missing Mike Trout (knee) and Gustavo Campero (knee), and neither of those players is expected to return within the next week.

Angels' Jo Adell: Goes deep Thursday
Adell went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Blue Jays on Thursday.
Adell made just his second start in the Angels' past six games, getting the nod in right field and batting eighth in the order. He took advantage of the opportunity, belting a 402-foot shot to left field in the second inning for his fourth homer of the season. Adell had been a lineup regular prior to the past week and may be in line to regain consistent playing time as Gustavo Campero deals with an ankle injury.

Angels' Jo Adell: Sits for fourth time in five games
Adell is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.
The Angels are giving Logan O'Hoppe a day off from catching but are keeping his bat in the lineup at designated hitter. As a result, Adell will be the odd man out of the lineup, as the Angels' usual DH, Jorge Soler, will cover right field. Even though the Angels lost Mike Trout (knee) to the injured list Friday, Adell's playing-time outlook has worsened over the past week. He's on the bench for the fourth time in five games, and the Angels seem to be prioritizing Kyren Paris and possibly even Gustavo Campero (ankle) ahead of Adell.

Angels' Jo Adell: Homers off bench Tuesday
Adell went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Blue Jays.
Adell's playing time has been trending downward to begin May, and he was on the bench for the third time in four games Tuesday. However, Gustavo Campero left this contest with an ankle injury, and if he misses time, that could allow Adell to be in the lineup more regularly moving forward. Adell could help his own cause with better hitting -- he's batting .183 with three homers, 15 RBI, six runs scored and a stolen base over 98 plate appearances this season. However, he doesn't have all that high of a ceiling after hitting .207 with a .682 OPS in 130 games last year.

Angels' Jo Adell: Riding bench again
Adell is not in the Angels' lineup against the Blue Jays on Tuesday.
Tuesday's game will be the third time Adell is not in the starting lineup over the Angels' last four games going back to May 2. When he did play May 4 against the Tigers, he went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. Without the 26-year-old starting Tuesday, Taylor Ward, Kyren Paris and Gustavo Campero are the Angels' starting outfielders versus Toronto.

Angels' Jo Adell: Supplies walk-off hit
Adell went 1-for-4 with a walk-off three-run double in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Giants.
Adell picked an opportune time for his first hit of the afternoon. He timed up a two-strike slider versus Ryan Walker and lined it into the gap in left field to clear the bases and cap off a four-run comeback in the ninth inning. It's the third game this season for Adell with three-plus RBI. Outside of those three games, he's totaled just two RBI and two extra-base hits.

Angels' Jo Adell: Knocks three hits Friday
Adell went 3-for-3 with a double in Friday's 2-0 win over San Francisco.
Adell was held out of the Angels' lineup Thursday in the midst of a 1-for-13 stretch at the plate, and the day off seemed to benefit him, as the outfielder collected three of the team's five hits in his return. It was Adell's first three-hit performance of the season and just his third multi-hit effort over 15 contests. He's posted a modest .235/.291/.392 slash line with two home runs, nine RBI, four runs and no stolen-base attempts on the campaign.

Angels' Jo Adell: Not in Thursday's lineup
Adell is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against Texas.
After going just 1-for-13 over his last four games, Adell will grab a seat on the bench Thursday. Kyren Paris will cover for him in center field, moving Luis Rengifo to second base while J.D. Davis starts at the hot corner.

Angels' Jo Adell: Homers twice in same inning
Adell went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four total RBI in Thursday's 11-1 win over the Rays.
Adell led off the fifth inning with his first homer of the year, a 409-foot blast off Zack Littell that extended the Angels' lead to 3-1. Adell didn't have to wait long for his second long ball -- he came to the plate again with two outs in the fifth and smacked a three-run shot off Mason Englert, bookending an eight-run frame. It was quite a performance from Adell, who'd gone 0-for-10 in his past three games prior to Thursday. He's now slashing .226/.294/.452 with eight RBI and four runs scored through 34 plate appearances this season.

Angels' Jo Adell: Absent from Wednesday's lineup
Adell is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Tampa Bay.
Adell is only 2-for-19 across his last five games, so he'll get a day off to regroup. The hot-hitting Kyren Paris will start in center field and bat seventh for the Angels on Wednesday.

Angels' Jo Adell: Good to go Tuesday
Adell (hip) is starting in center field and batting eighth Tuesday against the Cardinals.
The 25-year-old sat out the past two games after departing Saturday's contest due to hip tightness, but he's ready to rejoin the starting nine Tuesday. Prior to suffering the injury during the second game of the season, Adell had gone 2-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout to start the year.

Angels' Jo Adell: Not starting Monday
Adell (hip) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cardinals, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
He'll head to the bench for the second day in a row while he manages a tight left hip, but Adell said his condition is improving and he expects to be back in the lineup Tuesday, per Fletcher. Kyren Paris will pick up another start in center field in place of Adell.

Angels' Jo Adell: Not in Sunday's lineup
Adell (hip) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.
The 25-year-old departed Saturday's contest due to hip tightness and will sit out at least one game. It's not believed to be a serious injury, and Adell said Sunday that he's feeling much better and hopes to rejoin the lineup Monday in St. Louis, per Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com. Kyren Paris is starting in center field in the series finale versus Chicago.

Angels' Jo Adell: Not worried about hip issue
Adell isn't concerned about the hip tightness that caused him to be removed early from Saturday's win over the White Sox, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. "I'll be OK," Adell said after the game.
Adell grabbed at his left hip area after beating out an infield single in the fifth inning and had to be removed from the game. The Angels later described the outfielder's issue as "left hip tightness," but Adell didn't seem to be worried about the injury when asked about it after the win. Kyren Paris replaced Adell on first base and then in center field after the latter was lifted Saturday, and Paris could be in line for some starts if Adell needs to miss any further time.

Angels' Jo Adell: Removed early Saturday
Adell was removed from Saturday's game against the White Sox due to left hip tightness.
Adell was grabbing at his left leg/hip after hitting an infield single in the fifth inning. The severity of his injury remains unclear, but he can be considered day-to-day for the time being. If Adell ends up having to miss any games, Kyren Paris would be a likely candidate to see more time in the outfield.

Angels' Jo Adell: Busts out of spring slump
Adell went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, two total runs and two total RBI in Wednesday's Cactus League victory over Cleveland.
Adell came into the game struggling at the plate, but he created reason for optimism with his big performance Wednesday. The 25-year-old still has a meager .164/.190/.345 slash line this spring, but Adell does rank second on the club with three home runs and 12 RBI. Per Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register, the Angels haven't yet decided how they'll handle center field this season, but both Adell and Mickey Moniak are likely to spend time at the position now that Mike Trout is shifting to right field.
