Crochet (4-2) earned the win against the Royals on Saturday, allowing one run on seven hits and one walk while striking out nine over seven innings.
Crochet generated 18 whiffs on 106 pitches (75 strikes), and he capped his night off by striking out Bobby Witt to escape a bases-loaded situation in the seventh inning. It was Crochet's fifth quality start of the season, and his 65 strikeouts are second most in the American League behind Carlos Rodon (67), while his 1.93 ERA ranks fifth among qualified starters. Crochet's next start is slated for next weekend at home against Atlanta.

Red Sox's Garrett Crochet: Strikes out six in no-decision
Crochet did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Twins, allowing one run on four hits and two walks with six strikeouts over five innings.
Crochet rebounded from a leadoff home run to fire four straight scoreless frames, departing with a 3-1 lead that the bullpen couldn't hold. The southpaw has now completed at least five frames in each of his eight starts this season, yielding two earned runs or fewer in seven of them. Crochet (3-2) got the win over the Blue Jays on Tuesday, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out six in seven innings.
Crochet was dominant outside of one troubling inning in the third, during which he gave up a double to Bo Bichette followed by a two-run homer to Vladimir Guerrero. Crochet went on to allow just one base hit the rest of the way and recorded his third start this season of at least seven innings. His command has been a bit shaky lately with eight walks over his last two starts, but Crochet still dons a stellar 2.05 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 50:18 K:BB in 44 innings. He lines up to complete a two-start week at home against Minnesota this weekend.

Red Sox's Garrett Crochet: Struggles with command in loss
Crochet (2-2) took the loss Thursday against the Mariners, allowing four runs on five hits and five walks over five innings. He struck out nine.
The Mariners got to Crochet early Thursday, scoring twice in each of the first two innings. It's the left-hander's first subpar outing with the Red Sox -- Crochet hadn't allowed more than two earned runs in any of his previous four starts. His ERA still sits at an impressive 1.95 with a 1.05 WHIP and 44:15 K:BB across 37 innings this season. Crochet was nearly untouchable Sunday; he was perfect through five innings and carried a no-hitter into the eighth. He was removed from the game after Chase Meidroth broke it up with a single and later came around to score with Garrett Whitlock on the mound. Crochet generated a season-high 18 whiffs, including 11 with his four-seamer that averaged 95.8 mph. He dropped his ERA to 1.38 with a 28:8 K:BB through 26 frames. Red Sox's Garrett Crochet: Inks six-year extension with Boston
Crochet agreed to a six-year, $170 million contract extension with the Red Sox on Monday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Passan notes that this deal won't go into effect until the 2026 season and includes an opt-out clause following the 2030 campaign. Crochet is currently under contract on a one-year, $3.8 million agreement until the end of 2025 and made only one start with Boston before the two sides were able to come together on a long-term contract.
