White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Exits starting nine
Vaughn is absent from the lineup for Monday's game in Boston.
It's a day off for Vaughn, who had started every game since April 4. Nick Maton is covering first base and batting leadoff for the White Sox, while Andrew Benintendi is getting at start at designated hitter.

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Homers in win
Vaughn went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 8-4 win over the Red Sox.
Vaughn extended the team's lead to 7-4 with a 405-foot blast off Liam Hendriks in the eighth inning. The 27-year-old snapped a modest five-game hit streak Saturday but rebounded with his first multi-hit effort of the season. Overall, he's slashing an uninspiring .152/.193/.291 with three home runs, 10 RBI and five runs scored across 83 plate appearances.

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Slugs second homer Tuesday
Vaughn went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run Tuesday against the Athletics.
Vaughn deposited a Jeffrey Springs changeup into deep left field, tying the game up at 3-3 in the first inning. The White Sox are relying on Vaughn to be one of their big bats in 2025, but the former top prospect is off to a brutal start at the dish. Over his first 57 at-bats, Vaughn is slashing just .123/.180/.263 with two homers, two doubles, eight RBI and three runs scored.

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Draws three walks Wednesday
Vaughn went 0-for-2 with two strikeouts, three walks and one run in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to Cleveland.
Vaughn was able to reach base three times Wednesday despite not recording a hit, and he scored the first run of the game on a Lenyn Sosa RBI single in the first inning. Vaughn has reached base in six of his last eight games but has gone 5-for-28 with four walks, one home run and five RBI over that span.

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: First day off Wednesday
Vaughn is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.
It's the first day off this season for Vaughn, who is 3-for-19 with a home run in the first five contests. Nick Maton will start at first base and bat leadoff for the White Sox on Wednesday.

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Smacks three-run homer Monday
Vaughn went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Monday's 9-0 win over the Twins.
Vaughn began the season 1-for-12 across a three-game series against the Angels, but he started the White Sox's offensive onslaught Monday when he took Chris Paddack deep for a 371-foot, three-run homer to left field in the first inning. Vaughn was one long shot shy from recording a second-straight 20-homer season last year and will aim to reach that benchmark in 2025.

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Little pop in spring
Vaughn has only one extra-base hit across 26 at-bats in Cactus League action.
Vaughn has seven hits this spring, leading to a decent .269 average. The lack of pop could be a concern, though he's been very consistent across his four big-league seasons by posting ISOs between .156 and .171 in each campaign. Vaughn doesn't appear to have much upside heading into the 2025 season -- especially considering the state of the White Sox's lineup -- but he should be a near everyday player hitting in the middle of the order.

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Avoids arbitration hearing
Vaughn signed a one-year, $5.85 million contract with the White Sox on Thursday to avoid arbitration, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.
Vaughn had a career-worst .699 OPS over 149 games in 2024 but will still receive a sizable raise in his second year of arbitration eligibility. The 26-year-old should open 2025 as Chicago's primary first baseman, but his opportunities could shrink if he continues to regress.

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Logs three hits
Vaughn went 3-for-4 with a two-RBI single and a run scored during Thursday's 7-0 win over the Angels.
All seven runs scored by the ChiSox came in the fifth inning, and Vaughn started the scoring by plating Dominic Fletcher and Miguel Vargas on an RBI single. Vaughn came around to score in the frame on a Lenyn Sosa double. In September, Vaughn is 25-for-78 (.320) with four home runs, 10 RBI and seven runs.
