Reds' Tyler Stephenson: Finds power stroke after ASB
Stephenson went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double and a two-run home run in Friday's 8-4 win over the Mets.
Starting at DH and batting seventh, Stephenson socked the fourth of Cincinnati's four homers on the night by taking Alex Carrillo deep in the sixth inning. The blast snapped a 21-game homerless drought for Stephenson, as the 28-year-old backstop went into the All-Star break slashing just .176/.275/.221 during that slump. On the season, he sports a .727 OPS with seven home runs and 29 RBI in 55 contests.

Reds' Nick Lodolo: Fans seven in seventh win
Lodolo (7-6) picked up the win Friday, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk over seven innings in an 8-4 victory over the Mets. He struck out seven.
It was lucky 7s all around for Lodolo to begin the second half, as he racked up 32 called or swinging strikes on 97 pitches (62 total strikes) en route to his third straight quality start and 12th of the season. The 27-year-old southpaw hasn't given up more than three runs in a start since June 11, posting a 2.34 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 34:7 K:BB over his last six outings and 34.2 innings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next trip to the mound, which is scheduled to come on the road next week against the Nationals.

Reds' Matt McLain: Two XBH in win
McLain went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, a home run, two RBI and an additional run scored in Friday's 8-4 win over the Mets.
McLain launched a two-run homer in the fourth inning to give Cincinnati the lead and later doubled and scored in the seventh. The first half of the season was a grind for McLain, but he hit .287 during the month of June and got himself on a run just before the All-Star break. McLain has hit safely in six of seven contests, including multiple hits in the last three, going 9-for-28 (.321) with two homers, two doubles, three RBI and six runs.

Reds' Austin Hays: Opens second half in style
Hays went 2-for-3 with two walks, two home runs and three RBI in Friday's 8-4 win over the Mets.
Hays helped the Reds overcome an early deficit with home runs on consecutive plate appearances in the fourth and sixth innings. He's been an RBI machine when healthy, knocking in 40 over 48 games this season. "Healthy" is the operative word; Hays has spent three separate stints on the injured list with hamstring and foot injuries.

Reds' Hunter Greene: Set for rehab assignment
Reds manager Terry Francona said Friday that Greene (groin) is on track to make a rehab start in the Arizona Complex League early next week, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.
The plan is for Greene to make one start in Arizona before continuing his rehab at Triple-A Louisville. The 25-year-old suffered a setback in his recovery from a strained right groin early in July. It's unclear how many rehab appearances he'll need, but he shouldn't be expected back until sometime in August.

Reds' Carson Spiers: Goes 3.2 scoreless in rehab start
Spiers (shoulder) struck out five and gave up one hit and four walks over 3.2 scoreless innings in his rehab start for Triple-A Louisville on Sunday.
Though Spiers kept Columbus off the board during his start, he spotted just 39 of his 72 pitches for strikes in the outing, which was the third of his rehab assignment. On the shelf since April 20 due to a right shoulder impingement, Spiers appears to be close to fully stretched out at this point, but the Reds don't seem to have an opening for him in the big-league rotation. Spiers could be activated from the 60-day injured list coming out of the All-Star break to serve as a long-relief option for the big club, or the Reds could option him to Triple-A if they want to keep him in a starting role.

Reds' Eli Pitts: Drafted by Cincy
The Reds have selected Pitts with the 145th overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.
A high school outfielder from Georgia, Pitts is a plus runner with a chance to stick in center field. He has notable bat speed but is currently hit-over-power.

Reds' Mason Neville: Lands with Cincinnati
The Reds selected Neville with the 114th overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.
The 6-foot-3 Neville bats left-handed and has several above-average to plus tools, including plus power to all fields and above-average speed, but it's not clear if he'll hit enough to play regularly in the big leagues. Neville struck out 60.6 percent of the time as a freshman at Arkansas and transferred to Oregon, where he struck out 33.5 percent of the time as a sophomore. This year, he was much better, which should be the case for a third-year player. Neville slashed .290/.429/.724 with 26 home runs, nine steals and a 23.6 percent strikeout rate, although he still has issues with offspeed stuff and wasn't facing the stiffest competition in the Big Ten. Part of Neville's appeal is that he should provide average or better defense in center field and he could be a plus defender if he has to move to right field, thanks to an above-average arm.

Reds' Mason Morris: Drafted by Reds
The Reds have selected Morris with the 83rd overall pick of the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.
A three-year reliever at Ole Miss, the Reds may look to stretch out Morris, who has a nasty low-90s cutter and touches 99 mph with his fastball. Morris logged a 3.29 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 78 strikeouts in 54.2 inning across 19 appearances this spring.

Reds' Aaron Watson: Drafted in second round
The Reds have selected Watson with the 51st overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.
Watson might be safer than the typical prep righty, as he has a great feel for pitching, a simple, repeatable delivery and his fastball only sits in the low 90s at the time of the draft. The 6-foot-5, 205-pound hurler from Florida has improved his stock, with his fastball touching 96 mph this spring and his slider emerging as his go-to breaking ball. He hasn't needed his changeup much, but Watson's advanced pitchability and command of his full arsenal suggest he'll have the aptitude to excel with pro instruction. He could be wielding a mid-90s fastball that can tick up even higher on occasion within a couple of years.

Reds' Steele Hall: Heading to Cincy
The Reds have selected Hall with the ninth overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.
Hall is one of the younger players in the class after reclassifying, as he turns 18 a couple weeks after the draft. A no-doubt shortstop from Alabama, the 6-foot Hall is a great athlete with 70-grade speed and the actions to stick at the six. The quality of his hit tool and future power are tougher to project, but he's added 15-20 pounds of muscle this year and has a chance to be a 20-homer hitter at peak. Hall has great bat speed but struggles a bit with secondary stuff, which isn't uncommon for a player his age. His speed gives him a very high ceiling if he can max out as a hitter, and his defense gives him a chance to be an everyday player who hits near the bottom of the order even if he's not much of an offensive producer.

Reds' Emilio Pagan: Locks down 20th save
Pagan picked up the save Sunday, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning to close out the 4-2 win over the Rockies.
Pagan made quick work of Colorado in the final frame, needing only 14 pitches to retire the side in order and lock down his 20th save of the season. The veteran right-hander has now converted 20 of 23 save chances and has been especially effective lately, allowing only two earned runs over his last 15 appearances. Pagan continues to provide stability for Cincinnati while keeping his role as the team's preferred closer firmly intact.
