  • Magic's Wendell Carter: Grabs 13 rebounds in loss

Carter chipped in four points (2-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and 13 rebounds in 28 minutes during Sunday's 103-86 loss to the Celtics in Game 1 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Carter struggled to get going offensively in Game 1 in Boston, finishing with only four points. However, he did make an impact on the glass, grabbing a team-high 13 rebounds. Unfortunately, the Celtics proved to be too much to handle for the Magic in this series opener, resulting in Orlando losing convincingly on the road.

  • Magic's Franz Wagner: Bright spot in loss

Wagner closed with 23 points (10-24 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one steal in 36 minutes during Sunday's 103-86 loss to the Celtics in Game 1 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Wagner and Paolo Banchero combined for 59 points in Sunday's Game 1 loss, while no one else on the team reached double figures. Wagner is coming off an impressive regular season with averages of 24.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.7 three-pointers in 33.8 minutes per game.

  • Magic's Kentavious Caldwell-Pope: Three swipes in loss

Caldwell-Pope provided six points (2-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt), four rebounds, two assists and three steals in 35 minutes during Sunday's 103-86 loss to the Celtics in Game 1 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Caldwell-Pope didn't make much of an impact offensively in Game 1 in Boston, scoring just six points in the loss. However, the veteran guard was able to make his presence felt defensively, with a team-high three steals. Unfortunately for Orlando, it was nowhere near enough to help get the best of the defending NBA champions, as the Celtics went on to win by 17 points.

  • Magic's Gary Harris: Rough night Sunday

Harris had zero points (0-2 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and one rebound across 14 minutes during Sunday's 103-86 loss to the Celtics in Game 1 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Harris continues to play a modest role for the Magic, offering nothing in terms of tangible production. Constant injuries have resulted in Harris being nothing more than a veteran piece on a young team, with his days of being a meaningful contributor now seemingly behind him.

  • Magic's Cory Joseph: Comes up empty in loss

Joseph closed with zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and two assists in 26 minutes during Sunday's 103-86 loss to the Celtics in Game 1 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Joseph was barely visible despite continuing to start for the Magic. No matter how you look at it, this was a disastrous performance by the veteran, highlighting the depth issues the Magic have. While he is likely to remain a starter, it's hard to envisage Joseph having a sizeable impact on this series.

  • Magic's Paolo Banchero: Leads all scorers in Game 1 loss

Banchero closed Sunday's 103-86 loss to the Celtics in Game 1 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs with 36 points (14-27 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 42 minutes.

Banchero did everything he could to get the Magic over the line, leading all scorers in what was ultimately a losing effort. While both Banchero and Franz Wagner had strong performances, they received very little in the way of help. The remaining three starters combined for just 10 points, something they will need to rectify should they have any hope of ousting the Celtics.

  • Magic's Wendell Carter: Productive in win

Carter provided 19 points (8-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 26 minutes during Tuesday's 120-95 Play-In Game victory over the Hawks.

This was Carter's highest-scoring performance since Feb. 6. Games like this have been few and far between. For the regular season, Carter finished outside the top-150 in nine-category formats with averages of 9.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.6 blocks and 0.6 three-pointers in 29.6 minutes per game.

  • Magic's Paolo Banchero: All-around effort against Atlanta

Banchero finished Tuesday's 120-95 Play-In win over the Hawks with 17 points (4-13 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 9-11 FT), nine rebounds, seven assists, one block and one steal in 33 minutes.

Banchero didn't have a particularly efficient night from the field, but he managed to get the majority of his points from the free-throw line while flirting with a triple-double. The 2022 first-overall pick dominated down the stretch of the regular season, having averaged 29.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.0 steals across 36.1 minutes per game since the beginning of March. Winning Tuesday's Play-In Game means the Magic will qualify for the postseason as the seventh seed in the East and will face the Celtics in the first round.

  • Magic's Franz Wagner: Double-double in Play-In Game

Wagner registered 13 points (6-15 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 13 rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block over 34 minutes in Tuesday's 120-95 Play-In Game victory over Atlanta.

Wagner wasn't able to connect on any of his five three-point attempts, but he still made an impact by grabbing a game-high 13 boards. The 2021 first-rounder had a strong end to the regular season, having averaged 23.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 0.9 steals over 33.3 minutes per game in his last 10 outings. Wagner and the Magic will have their hands full against Jayson Tatum and the Celtics in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
