Steelers' Justin Fields: Remains starter
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday he's preparing for Fields to start versus the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.
Fields nearly led a Pittsburgh comeback during last week's 27-24 loss to the Colts, showcasing his playmaking ability both through the air and on the ground. Tomlin noted that Russell Wilson (calf) will resume handling team drills in practice this week, per Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, a development that constitutes notable progress in the veteran's recovery from a lingering calf strain. It remains to be seen whether Wilson will manage to gain full clearance for Week 5, but when that does occur Fields will find himself with less margin for error under center.

Steelers' Justin Fields: Offense opens up
Fields completed 22 of 34 passes for 312 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Colts. He added 10 rushes for 55 yards and two additional touchdowns.
Fields got off to a shaky start as the Steelers went scoreless for their first four offensive possessions, leading to a 17-3 deficit at halftime. That forced Pittsburgh into opening up the offense, leading to Fields throwing for 192 yards and rushing for 41 in the final two quarters. He did make a few key mistakes, highlighted by taking a sack that led to a lost fumble in the middle of the third quarter. On the other hand, he nearly led a substantial comeback and showed his dynamic playmaking ability as both a rusher and passer with five completions of 20 or more yards. He still has yet to officially be named the Steelers' starting quarterback, but it would come as a surprise if he isn't under center for a Week 5 matchup against the Cowboys.
