Cowboys' Zack Martin: Moves to IR
Martin (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Monday.
Martin's move to IR was just a formality after it was reported he would undergo season-ending surgery Thursday. The nine-time Pro Bowler also battled a shoulder injury this season limiting him to 10 games. The 34-year-old is set to enter free agency at season end.

Cowboys' Zack Martin: Injury not career-ending
Owner Jerry Jones said Friday that Martin's ankle injury "shouldn't be viewed as [the] end to his playing [career] at all...it should be viewed as the remainder of this season, and only that," Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Martin battled through ankle and shoulder injuries this season, though those issues forced him to be sidelined for the Cowboys' last two games. There was optimism that he could return for Monday's game against the Bengals, but the veteran guard instead opted to undergo season-ending surgery on his right ankle. The 34-year-old Martin has anchored the Cowboys' offensive line since being selected No. 6 overall in the 2014 NFL Draft, and Jones appeared optimistic Friday that Martin will return for the 2025 campaign. With Martin done for the year, Brock Hoffman will serve as Dallas' starting right guard for the final five games of the regular season.

Cowboys' Zack Martin: Getting season-ending surgery
Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy announced Thursday that Martin will undergo season-ending surgery on his injured right ankle, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Brock Hoffman will take over as the Cowboys' starting right guard for the final five games of the season after filling in as a starter for the past two games since Martin suffered the injury in a Week 11 loss to the Texans. A nine-time Pro Bowler, Martin has been an anchor along the Cowboys offensive line since he was selected with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, but his time in Dallas could be over. The 34-year-old has been non-committal about his future in football beyond this season, so he could be considering retirement.
