Texans' Robert Woods: May be out Week 6
Woods (foot) is in line to miss Sunday's game at New England, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Woods showed up on the Texans' practice report last week due to a foot injury, which sidelined him Thursday, limited his reps Friday and resulted in a questionable tag for Week 5 action. He suited up this past Sunday against the Bills and played 24 percent of the snaps, but he also wasn't targeted for the third time in five games this season. It appears Woods may have aggravated the issue, considering he hasn't practiced this week and now is trending toward his first absence of the campaign. Friday's injury report ultimately may rule him out for Week 6.

Texans' Robert Woods: Misses another practice
Woods (foot) remained absent from practice Thursday.
Woods also missed Wednesday's practice, so what he's able to do during Friday's session will loom larger in terms of his status for Sunday's game against the Patriots. With Nico Collins (hamstring) on IR, Woods is a candidate to see added WR snaps behind Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell, provided his foot issue doesn't impact his availability.

Texans' Robert Woods: Starts week with practice absence
Woods (foot) didn't participate in practice Wednesday.
Woods also missed some practice time with the same injury leading up to the Week 5 win over the Bills, but he managed to play through the concern and failed to draw a target on his 16 snaps on offense. Based on how the Texans deployed their wide receivers after Nico Collins (hamstring) exited the Week 5 contest, Xavier Hutchinson is more likely than Woods to join Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell in three-receiver sets Sunday against the Patriots. Collins was placed on injured reserve Wednesday and will miss at least four games, allowing Woods and each of the Texans' other receivers to move up a spot on the depth chart.

Texans' Robert Woods: Not targeted in win
Woods was not targeted over 16 snaps in Sunday's 23-20 win over Buffalo in Week 5. He also returned five punts for 66 yards and one kickoff for 31 yards.
Woods, who played 54 snaps as a fill-in for wideout Tank Dell last week, was held back Sunday in favor of Xavier Hutchinson, who filled in after Nico Collins (hamstring) left the game. However the depth chart shakes out behind the top three wideouts, neither Woods nor Hutchinson are expected to see an uptick in targets when at least two of the top three are healthy. Woods replaced the inactive Steven Sims as Houston's kickoff returner Sunday.

Woods didn't practice Thursday, but after returning to a limited session field Friday, he approached the contest listed as questionable. Woods' healthy snap count was attributable to Tank Dell (chest) being inactive. In the three previous weeks, Woods totaled 34 snaps and two targets. Without Dell, quarterback C.J. Stroud stepped up his reliance on Nico Collins (15 targets) and Stefon Diggs (nine).
