Bengals' Trent Brown: Officially placed on IR
The Bengals placed Brown (knee) on injured reserve Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Brown tore his patellar tendon during the Bengals' Week 3 loss to the Commanders, an injury that requires season-ending surgery. The 2015 seventh-round pick will shift his focus to rehab and recovery as he looks to be fully healthy for the 2025 season. Amarius Mims will serve as the Bengals' starting right tackle moving forward.

Bengals' Trent Brown: Needs season-ending surgery
Brown will require season-ending surgery to repair a torn patellar tendon suffered in Monday's 38-33 loss to the Commanders, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Brown is expected to make a full recovery from surgery and return to action for the start of the 2025 campaign. With Brown headed for injured reserve, the Bengals to turn to their first-round selection in the 2024 NFL Draft, Amarius Mims, at right tackle. Brown signed with the Bengals in the spring on a one-year contract to serve as a predecessor to Mims, but the veteran may be in search of a new home in 2025 once he's fully healthy.

Bengals' Trent Brown: Carted off Monday
Brown suffered an apparent knee injury during Monday's game against the Commanders and had to be carted off, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
The starting right tackle was grabbing his right knee, per Jhabvala. The injury gives the Bengals' first-round pick, Amarius Mims, a chance to come in and play a significant role for the first time in his NFL career.

Bengals' Trent Brown: Returning to practice
Brown (undisclosed) practiced Monday for the first time and will likely be the starting right tackle with rookie first-rounder Amarius Mims (pectoral muscle) out several weeks, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
Mims' absence gives the Bengals very little proven tackle depth in the event of another injury, though Brown seems unconcerned about his late start. "This is Year 10 for me," Brown said. "I've got a lot of reps under my belt already. I think I kind of know how the game is played and how it needs to be played."
