Texans' Nick Chubb: Takes back seat in Week 10
Chubb carried the ball five times for 47 yards and caught his only target for five yards in Sunday's 36-29 win over the Jaguars.
Rookie Woody Marks led the Texans' backfield with 16 touches to Chubb's six, but the veteran was still productive on his limited volume. It was the third time this season Chubb has failed to get double-digit carries, as he continues to fall behind Marks in the pecking order. Both backs could pop for big numbers, no matter how the workload is split, in Week 11 against the Titans.

Texans' Nick Chubb: Ready for Week 10
Chubb (foot) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game versus the Jaguars.
After sitting out Wednesday's practice due to a foot injury, Chubb progressed to limited Thursday and full to wrap up Week 10 prep, paving the way for him to continue to be a part of the Texans backfield this weekend. He's ceded more snaps to fellow RB Woody Marks in three games since Houston's Week 6 bye, but Chubb still has earned 36 touches (for 114 total yards and no TDs) to Marks' 38 touches (for 173 total yards and one TD) during that stretch. Expect the near-even split of reps between them to be maintained Sunday.

Texans' Nick Chubb: Logs limited practice Thursday
Chubb (foot) was limited at practice Thursday.
Chubb was a non-participant in Wednesday's session, but his return to Thursday's practice bodes well for his chances of playing Sunday against the Jaguars. Friday's injury report will reveal whether the running back is able to practice fully to close the week, and in turn whether or not he carries an injury designation into the weekend. If he's available versus Jacksonville, Chubb would be in line to continue to work in a backfield timeshare with Woody Marks.

Texans' Nick Chubb: Back at practice
Chubb (foot) returned to practice Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
After missing Wednesday's session, Chubb's return to practice a day later is an encouraging development regarding his chances of being available Sunday against the Jaguars. The Texans' upcoming injury report is slated to reveal Chubb's official participation level Thursday.

Texans' Nick Chubb: Misses practice with foot injury
Chubb was held out of Wednesday's practice due to a foot injury, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
When reporters asked about Chubb's absence, Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans simply responded, "we'll see as the week goes on." There was no clear sign of trouble during Sunday's 18-15 loss to the Broncos, with Chubb taking 11 carries for 34 yards while playing 36 percent of snaps on offense, including a 40 percent snap share and two carries during the fourth quarter. Woody Marks will likely get more playing time if Chubb isn't available Sunday against Jacksonville, but Dare Ogunbowale, Dameon Pierce and British Brooks could also mix in for a few snaps/touches.

Texans' Nick Chubb: Not practicing Wednesday
Chubb (undisclosed) wasn't spotted at practice Wednesday, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
The Texans' upcoming injury report will clarify what caused Chubb's absence from the session, but with regard to the running back's status for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, coach DeMeco Ryans said "we'll see as the week goes on." If Chubb is limited or out versus Jacksonville, Woody Marks would be in line for added touches, with Dameon Pierce, Dare Ogunbowale and British Brooks also in Houston's Week 10 backfield mix.

Texans' Nick Chubb: Makes little impact in Week 9
Chubb carried the ball 11 times for 34 yards in Sunday's 18-15 loss to the Broncos.
The veteran split the backfield workload with rookie Woody Marks, and while Chubb led the Texans in rushing, it was still a tepid showing. The former Brown has yet to top 61 rushing yards in a game this season, and while he's gotten double-digit carries in six of eight contests, there have been very few flashes of his pre-injury form. Houston could lean more heavily on its ground game in Week 10 against the Jaguars, however, if C.J. Stroud (concussion) remains sidelined and Davis Mills is under center.

Texans' Nick Chubb: Outperformed by Marks in win
Chubb rushed 17 times for 56 yards and brought in both targets for 13 yards in the Texans' 26-15 win over the 49ers on Sunday.
Chubb received six more carries than rookie backfield mate Woody Marks, but the latter outgained the veteran by six yards despite the lesser workload. Marks also stood out by doubling Chubb's reception total and gaining 36 more receiving yards, but head coach DeMeco Ryans appears intent on keeping Chubb involved as both a runner and receiver. Nevertheless, with a middling 4.0 yards-per-carry average, Chubb could eventually swap places in the backfield pecking order with Marks.
