Giants' Darius Slayton: Nabers out again Week 6
Slayton is set to remain the Giants' top option on the outside Sunday against the Bengals, as Malik Nabers (concussion) has been ruled out, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Slayton stepped up with 122 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets in Nabers' absence against the Seahawks in Week 5, matching the former's receiving yardage total from the previous four games combined. Slayton is well positioned to make the most of the additional volume in a primetime matchup against a struggling Bengals defense. Jalin Hyatt likely will get the majority of reps on the outside opposite Slayton, while Wan'Dale Robinson will continue to man the slot.

Giants' Darius Slayton: Puts on best Nabers impression
Slayton caught eight of 11 targets for 122 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 29-20 win over the Seahawks.
Slayton stepped up in the absence of Malik Nabers (concussion), matching the 122 yards Slayton posted in the first four games of the season. Most of his production came during a third-quarter drive on which Slayton made a 41-yard catch down the right sideline, then scored a 30-yard touchdown on the left side three plays later. Slayton should maintain a starting role on the outside for Week 6 against the Bengals regardless of Nabers' status, but Slayton's target share would likely dip if Nabers gains clearance to return.

Giants' Darius Slayton: Could see more targets sans Nabers
Slayton could get more looks from QB Daniel Jones with Malik Nabers (concussion) ruled out for Week 5 against Seattle, per Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports.
Slayton led New York in targets and receiving yards last season but has taken a backseat to Nabers early in the 2024 campaign. Nabers hasn't cleared the NFL's concussion protocol and has consequently been deemed out for Sunday, likely giving Slayton -- who has 10 catches on 15 targets through four games -- the chance to be a bigger part of the Giants' air attack. Wan'Dale Robinson should continue to work in the slot and get substantial attention from Jones as he has for most of the season, while Jalin Hyatt figures to serve as New York's No. 3 wideout Sunday and will look to log his first catch of the campaign.

Slayton brought in three of five targets for 56 yards in the Giants' 20-15 loss to the Cowboys on Thursday night.
Slayton worked through a thumb injury during the short week to suit up Thursday, and he finished well behind the top duo of Malik Nabers (concussion) and Wan'Dale Robinson across his receiving line. However, the veteran wideout was able to make one of his signature chunk plays through the air, recording a 28-yard grab early in the second quarter on a drive that culminated in a Greg Joseph field goal. Slayton has a trio of three-catch tallies over his first four games, and if Nabers isn't able to clear concussion protocol for a Week 5 road matchup against the Seahawks on Sunday, Oct. 6, the former would be in line for an uptick in opportunity.

Slayton (thumb) is listed as active Thursday against the Cowboys, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
After leaving this past Sunday's win at Cleveland for a spell due to a thumb injury, Slayton underwent X-rays that came back negative. He then was listed as limited on all three of the Giants' Week 4 practice reports before being listed as questionable. The issue won't stop him from suiting up Thursday, but Slayton will be donning a wrap/splint on his right thumb, per Dan Duggan of The Athletic.

Slayton made a brief exit at the tail end of this past Sunday's win at Cleveland due to a thumb injury. Slayton underwent X-rays on his thumb following Sunday's 21-15 win over the Browns, but they came back negative, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Slayton was briefly forced out of Sunday's contest early in the fourth quarter due to the thumb injury, but he returned with 7:40 remaining and finished the afternoon with a 1-7-0 receiving line on two targets while logging 81 percent of snaps. The wideout might have been playing through some discomfort the rest of the game, but with X-rays coming back negative, Slayton would seem to have a good chance at being available for the Giants' Week 4 matchup with the Cowboys on Thursday night.
