49ers' La'Darius Hamilton: Finds new home
Hamilton signed a contract with the 49ers on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Shortly after showing up for a tryout, the 49ers opted to give Hamilton a chance. He had primarily been a practice squad participant for the Packers over the past two seasons. The 25-year-old will now attempt to earn a role providing depth at linebacker for an already stingy 49ers defense.

La'Darius Hamilton: Waived by Green Bay
The Packers waived Hamilton on Tuesday, Wes Hodkiewicz of the team's official site reports.
Hamilton sat out the preseason opener against the 49ers due to a groin injury but played in each of the final two exhibition games. However, he didn't do enough to land a spot on Green Bay's initial 53-man roster. The Packers originally signed the pass rusher in mid-September last year as an emergency option after Za'Darius Smith underwent back surgery, though Hamilton appeared in only six games and recorded three tackles across 61 defensive snaps.

Hamilton was held out of Friday's game against the 49ers after picking up a groin injury, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Hamilton apparently suffered his injury during practice this past week as he was listed out just before kickoff against San Francisco. With the second-year outside linebacker out, fellow backups Jonathan Garvin, Tipa Galeai and Kingsley Enagbare should see increased pass-rushing opportunities Friday night.
