Commanders' Brian Robinson: Downgraded to out
Robinson (knee) was downgraded and is now out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Ravens, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Robinson failed to practice all week, so this isn't all that surprising even considering the running back's well-reported toughness. As a result, Austin Ekeler will take over as the team's starter and should see plenty of work as both a pass catcher and runner. Jeremy McNichols will also chip in, but it's worth noting the Ravens have allowed the fewest yards on the ground to opposing running backs this season.

Commanders' Brian Robinson: Listed as questionable
Robinson (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Baltimore, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Robinson didn't practice at all this week, with coach Dan Quinn saying Friday that the running back will be a game-time decision. Robinson played through the same injury last week, but that was after returning to practice Friday, and he ended up missing the second half after scoring a pair of TDs before halftime in an eventual 34-13 win over Cleveland. His odds of playing appear lower this week, which would mean expanded workloads for Austin Ekeler and Jeremy McNichols if Robinson is deemed inactive before the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.

Commanders' Brian Robinson: Headed for game-time decision
Coach Dan Quinn said Friday that Robinson will be a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup with the Ravens, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
The Commanders are giving Robinson a shot to play even though he didn't practice this week. He played through the same injury last week and scored a pair of first-half touchdowns, but he then aggravated his knee and was held out after halftime, leaving Austin Ekeler and Jeremy McNichols in charge of Washington's backfield in a 34-13 win over Cleveland. It'll likely be Ekeler getting the start and McNichols handling a significant role off the bench if Robinson is declared inactive before the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff this Sunday in Baltimore.

With back-to-back absences to begin Week 6 prep due to a lingering knee issue, Robinson has just one more chance to mix into drills before week's end. Having said that, he followed a similar practice regimen last week before returning as limited Friday, getting tagged as questionable and eventually being active this past Sunday against the Browns. Ultimately, Friday's injury report will reveal whether or not Robinson has a designation ahead of Sunday's contest at Baltimore. Meanwhile, fellow running back Austin Ekeler (heel) practiced in full Thursday, leaving him and Jeremy McNichols as the Commanders' current healthy options in the backfield.

Commanders' Brian Robinson: Sits out Wednesday's practice
Robinson (knee) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice.
Robinson appears to be following a similar practice regimen this week as he did last week, when he managed just one limited session Friday. He was listed as questionable and was ultimately active for this past Sunday's win over the Browns, but he earned a season-low 34 percent snap share while working in tandem with Austin Ekeler (49 percent) and Jeremy McNichols (22 percent) out of the Commanders backfield. Robinson took advantage of his seven carries on his way to 18 yards and two touchdowns, while Ekeler (eight touches for 97 yards from scrimmage) and McNichols (seven carries for 44 yards and one touchdown) also produced useful stat lines for fantasy purposes. Robinson may need to get back to full participation by week's end in order to regain a majority share of Washington's backfield reps for Sunday's game at Baltimore.

Commanders' Brian Robinson: Finds end zone twice in win
Robinson carried the ball seven times for 18 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 34-13 win over the Browns.
While both Austin Ekeler and quarterback Jayden Daniels had more rushing yards than Robinson, the latter was the Commanders' preferred option at the goal line, and he punched in a four-yard TD in the first quarter and a one-yard score in the second. Robinson might have had a third short touchdown in a closer game, but with Washington already ahead 24-6 in the third quarter, Jeremy McNichols got the call for a three-yard TD plunge instead. Robinson has five rushing touchdowns in five games to begin the season, giving him plenty of momentum heading into a Week 6 clash with the Ravens.

Robinson tended to a knee injury during Week 5 prep, capping him to one limited practice (Friday) and a questionable listing for Sunday's contest. The issue won't stop him from being available to the Commanders backfield, but with Austin Ekeler (concussion) back after one game missed and Jeremy McNichols faring well Week 4 (eight carries for 68 yards and two TDs), Robinson may have a scaled-back role. Still, Robinson hasn't lacked for work (18.5 touches per game) in the first four outings of the season, so there's a chance he'll retain such a gig.

The Commanders haven't officially changed Robinson's injury designation, but the third-year back should be cleared to play upon the release of Washington's inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff. The third-year back missed practices Wednesday and Thursday before participating in limited fashion Friday. Washington will also have top backup Austin Ekeler at its disposal after the veteran missed the Week 4 win over the Cardinals due to a concussion.

Robinson returned to practice Friday as a limited participant, with coach Dan Quinn saying the running back is "trending the right way" but still figures to be a game-time decision ahead of Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. Fellow Commanders running back Austin Ekeler has cleared concussion protocol and presumably will handle his largest role of the season if Robinson is inactive (or has his workload scaled back) this Sunday. Jeremy McNichols scored two TDs in Ekeler's stead last week and would continue to get some touches in the event of a Robinson absence.
