Johnson (knee) has been an active participant at the Panthers' training camp this week, Liam McKeone of SI.com reports.
Johnson suffered a knee injury in mid-June, but he appears to have made a full recovery. The 25-year-old is battling to crack Carolina's active roster as a depth option at weakside linebacker in 2024.

Panthers' DJ Johnson: Avoids serious injury
Panthers head coach Dave Canales said Wednesday that Johnson's knee injury isn't considered serious, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Johnson was carted off the field during minicamp last week with what was initially thought to be a calf injury, but he's now being listed with a knee issue. The second-year linebacker out of Oregon appeared in 13 games and made 16 total tackles during his rookie campaign. He's expected to compete for a depth role on Carolina's defense once he's past his knee injury.

Johnson was unable to play in Week 13 versus the Buccaneers due to an elbow injury that he suffered the week prior, but he now appears to be ready to go if needed for Sunday's contest versus New Orleans. The linebacker recorded 14 tackles while also deflecting a pass over eight games in his rookie campaign with the Panthers.
