Commanders' Tariq Castro-Fields: Working at OTAs
Castro-Fields (shoulder) is participating at the Commanders' OTAs, Stephen Whyno of the AP News reports.
Castro-Fields landed on Washington's injured reserve prior to Week 18 last season with a shoulder injury. He suited up for eight games in 2023, but was primarily used on special teams. He finished the year with four tackles (three solo). He is competing for a depth role in the Commanders' secondary in the upcoming season.

Commanders' Tariq Castro-Fields: Season over
Castro-Fields (shoulder) was placed on the Commanders' injured reserve Friday, Zach Shelby of the team's official website reports.
Castro-Fields' placement on IR means his season is over. He will now set his sights on returning healthy for the 2024 campaign. His absence for Sunday's season finale is not expected to have an impact on Washington's defense.

Commanders' Tariq Castro-Fields: Missing season finale
Castro-Fields (shoulder) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Cowboys, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Castro-Fields drew the first start of his young career in Week 17, but he sustained a shoulder injury that's held him out of practice all week, so it's no surprise that he won't suit up Sunday. The Commanders' secondary will be extremely thin in Week 18, as Castro-Fields is one of three cornerbacks to already be ruled out.

Commanders' Tariq Castro-Fields: Won't return Sunday
Castro-Fields (shoulder) is out for the rest of Sunday's game versus the 49ers, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.
Castro-Fields left during the first half of Sunday's contest with a shoulder injury that was apparently serious enough to keep him out for the rest of the day. With both Kendall Fuller (knee) and Benjamin St-Juste (concussion) also out, 2022 seventh-rounder Christian Holmes will continue to see an expanded role versus San Francisco.

Commanders' Tariq Castro-Fields: Exits with shoulder injury Week 17
Castro-Fields left Sunday's game against the 49ers with a shoulder injury and is questionable to return, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Castro-Fields was hurt in the first half and has since been deemed questionable to return. The second-year pro made his first start of the season Sunday -- prior to the game, he had played exclusively on special teams. Both Kendall Fuller (knee) and Benjamin St-Juste (concussion) are inactive Sunday, so Christian Holmes has entered in Castro-Fields' stead.

Commanders' Tariq Castro-Fields: Returns from injury
Castro-Fields (knee) was taking part in team drills during Tuesday's OTAs, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.
The second-year defensive back's knee appears to be healthy after he suffered an injury that held him out after Week 6 of last season. Castro-Fields will fight for a depth spot on Washington's 53-man roster after not recording a tackle last season in two appearances during which he played six snaps on defense and 13 on special teams.
