Giants' Greg Joseph: Kicks five FGs in loss to Dallas
Joseph converted all five of his field-goal attempts in Thursday night's 20-15 loss to the Cowboys.
Kicking in place of an injured Graham Gano (hamstring) for the second straight week, Joseph was the only means of scoring for the Giants in Thursday night's defeat. Joseph's makes were from 52, 41, 38, 22 and 42 yards out. Through two games, Joseph has made five of six field-goal tries and all three of his extra-point attempts.

Giants' Greg Joseph: Will kick vs. Dallas
Head coach Brian Daboll said that Joseph will serve as the Giants' kicker in Thursday's game against the Cowboys, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Joseph made all three of his extra-point tries in his team debut during Sunday's win over the Browns, but he missed his only field-goal attempt from 48 yards out. The veteran will continue filling in for Graham Gano (hamstring) versus Dallas, but if Joseph struggles again, the Giants could look into replacing him with another kicker.

Giants' Greg Joseph: Misses in debut with team
Head coach Brian Daboll was non-committal on Joseph's future with the Giants after he missed a 48-yard goal in Sunday's 21-15 win over the Browns, Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post reports.
Joseph was signed off the Lions' practice squad to replace Graham Gano (hamstring) during his IR stint. However, after missing his lone FGA, it seems like the team may be open to bringing in other options. On a positive note for Joseph, he did make all three of his PATs in the win Sunday. The Giants face the Cowboys on Thursday, so if they do decide to make a switch at kicker, they'll need to do so quickly.

Giants' Greg Joseph: Replacing injured Gano in New York
The Giants signed Joseph off the Lions' practice squad on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
After losing the battle for the Packers' kicking job at the end of training camp, Joseph had to wait just two weeks before getting an opportunity with another team. With the Giants, he'll be serving as a short-term replacement for Graham Gano, who is expected to miss multiple weeks after straining his right hamstring in this past Sunday's 21-18 loss to the Commanders. The 30-year-old Joseph has appeared in 51 games with the Browns, Titans and Vikings over parts of five NFL seasons, converting 82.6 percent of his field-goal tries.

Greg Joseph: Gets chance in Detroit
Joseph was added to the Lions' practice squad Tuesday according to his agent, reports Brett Tessler.
Joseph, a seven-year veteran, spent the prior three seasons with the Vikings. He subsequently competed for the Packers' kicking job during the offseason but was ultimately cut. Detroit's kicker, Jake Bates, was a perfect 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts in his debut in Week 1. Joseph would now be in line to fill in should he be required to do so.

Greg Joseph: Cut by Green Bay
The Packers released Joseph on Wednesday.
Joseph appeared to win the battle with Anders Carlson for the Packers' kicker job, but they've now both been released and replaced by waiver claim Brayden Narveson, an undrafted rookie free agent who made six of seven field-goal attempts for the Titans this preseason. Narveson's only miss came from 58 yards, and he converted a 59-yarder. Joseph boasts five seasons of NFL experience and will look to catch on elsewhere after he converted 24 of 30 field-goal tries and 36 of 38 extra-point attempts in 17 games for Minnesota in 2023.

Packers' Greg Joseph: Only kicker on roster
Joseph is the only kicker on Green Bay's initial 53-man roster.
Joseph outperformed Anders Carlson this summer and now figures to kick for the Packers in Week 1 against the Eagles. The 30-year-old spent the past three season with Minnesota, converting 82.6 percent of field-goal attempts and 90.1 percent of PATs while playing all 17 games each year. Joseph is probably one of the lesser starting placekickers in the league, which means he's one cold streak away from finding himself on the hot seat.

Packers' Greg Joseph: Misses lone attempt
Joseph missed a 47-yard field-goal attempt in Sunday's preseason game against the Broncos.
Joseph was the only Packers kicker to record an attempt Sunday with Green Bay's offense unable to get much going, and he was unable to convert his lone chance. Joseph and Anders Carlson remain the primary competitors for the placekicking job in Green Bay.

Packers' Greg Joseph: Continues making kicks
Joseph made a 35-yard field goal and an extra point in Saturday's preseason opener against the Browns.
Joseph is competing with Anders Carlson for the placekicking job in Green Bay, and he did nothing to damage his chances Saturday, making both kicks he attempted. Joseph has been a bit more accurate than his counterpart during training camp, but Carlson was drafted by the Packers in 2023 and made all his kicks Saturday after entering the game first; therefore, Joseph still has some work to do.

Packers' Greg Joseph: Outperforming Carlson so far
Joseph has the upper hand in the starting kicker race for Green Bay after going 7-for-7 in field-goal tries during practice Thursday compared to Anders Carlson's 4-for-7 session, Matt Schneidman of The New York Times reports.
The veteran kicker signed with Green Bay in March and has so far brought an experienced presence that could give him the advantage as he battles against Carlson for the starting spot. Joseph has now made 29 of 31 of kicks attempted in front of reporters during training camp while Carlson has gone 25-of-31.

Packers' Greg Joseph: Lands in Green Bay
The Packers signed Joseph to a contract Tuesday, his agent Brett Tessler reports.
Joseph gives Green Bay an experienced veteran option to compete with Anders Carlson, a 2023 sixth-round pick who converted 27 of 33 field-goal attempts (82 percent) and 34 of 39 extra-point attempts as a rookie. Joseph converted 24 of 30 field-goal tries (80 percent) and 36 of 38 extra-point attempts over 17 games with the Vikings last season.
