49ers' Brock Purdy: Inactive again in Week 10
Purdy (toe) is listed as inactive Sunday versus the Rams, Briana Jeannel of the 49ers' official site reports.
Purdy hasn't been able to progress to a full practice since his last appearance in Week 4 as he works his way back from a turf toe injury. In Purdy's absence during Week 10, Mac Jones will earn his eighth start of the campaign, while Adrian Martinez will serve as the backup quarterback. Purdy's next chance to play is next Sunday at Arizona.

49ers' Brock Purdy: Has chance to return Week 11
Head coach Kyle Shanahan said after Sunday's 42-26 loss to the Rams that Purdy (toe) has a real chance to return in Week 11 against the Cardinals, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Mac Jones made his eighth start of the season in Sunday's loss to the Rams, which dropped the 49ers to 6-4. Purdy has been progressing in his recovery from turf toe and was a limited participant in Week 10 prior to being declared inactive against the Rams. Purdy would likely need to ramp up to full participation prior to reclaiming the starting role.

49ers' Brock Purdy: Won't start even if active
Purdy (toe) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams, but Mac Jones will start at quarterback even if Purdy is active, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
If he suits up Sunday, Purdy would merely be the No. 2 quarterback, with a return to the starting role perhaps coming Week 11 versus the Cardinals. For now, Jones will get at least one more start, leading San Francisco's offense into a highly anticipated NFC West showdown.

49ers' Brock Purdy: Stays limited Thursday
Purdy (toe) remained limited at Thursday's practice, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
GM John Lynch told KNBR San Francisco on Thursday morning that Purdy is handling more and more work on a weekly basis as he seeks his first game action since Week 4 due to a turf toe injury. Coach Kyle Shanahan then relayed on KNBR on Thursday afternoon that Purdy is drawing closer to a return, and the 49ers ultimately will make a decision on that front Friday. It's unclear if Purdy will start Sunday against the Rams if he's cleared, but Shanahan consistently has been naming the starter between Purdy and Mac Jones when the team's final injury report needs to be posted, so that at least should become known sooner than later.

49ers' Brock Purdy: To be limited Wednesday
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Purdy (toe) will be limited at Wednesday's practice, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Purdy has missed seven of the last eight games due to a nagging turf toe injury, and while he has yet to progress to a full practice, Shanahan told Barrows that the 49ers plan for Purdy to take on more first-team reps this week. It's unclear if that means Purdy has a chance to return to action for the first time since Week 4 on Sunday against the Rams, but if that doesn't come to pass, Mac Jones again would be lined up to lead San Francisco's offense Week 10.
