The Lions waived Green (concussion) with a failed physical designation Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Green is seemingly still dealing with the effects of the concussion that landed him on Detroit's injured reserve last August. The 25-year-old caught one pass for two yards in nine games for the Lions back in 2023.

Lions' Antoine Green: Reverts to IR
Green (concussion) reverted to Detroit's reserve/injured list Tuesday after clearing waivers, per the NFL transaction log.
Green hauled in all three of his targets for 13 yards in Thursday's preseason game against the Giants before leaving due to a concussion he sustained on a block attempt in the second quarter. The 2023 seventh-round pick was getting reps with the Lions' first-team offense alongside wide receivers Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams early in training camp. However, now that he's on IR, Green will be forced to miss the entire 2024 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with Detroit.

Green was a seventh-round pick by Detroit in 2023, but he will now head to waivers. The 24-year-old will look to catch on with another team after he recovers from a concussion suffered during last week's preseason matchup versus the Giants.

Green suffered a concussion in Thursday night's preseason loss to the Giants, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.
Green was injured on a block attempt in the second quarter. Prior to leaving, Green had reeled in all three of his targets for 13 yards. A seventh-round pick out of North Carolina last year, Green is trying to win a job behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams in Detroit's wide-open wideout group.

Green was active for the first time since Week 10 but did not get any work in the passing game. Even if Jameson Williams (ankle) and/or Kalif Raymond (knee) miss time in the playoffs, Green is highly unlikely to make much of a dent in the box score.

While Green was not targeted with a pass, he has seen his offensive playing time increase in three consecutive weeks while 33-year-old veteran Marvin Jones has seen his role decline. After being evaluated for a concussion during Sunday's 37-31 loss versus Seattle, Green is already back at practice Wednesday. He recorded his first NFL catch in Week 2 and will look to expand on that as the season progresses.

Green secured the No. 5 spot on the depth chart coming out of the preseason, but it does not seem as if there is a role for him on offense or special teams despite the six-game suspension of Jameson Williams. However, it is possible that could change if the struggles of 33-year-old Marvin Jones, who logged over half of the offensive snaps, persist in the coming weeks.
