  • Eagles' Jalyx Hunt: Back at practice Sunday

Hunt (oblique) returned to practice Sunday, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Hunt missed Thursday's practice due to an oblique injury, but the issue appears to have been minor, as he's back on the field three days later. Tuesday's initial injury report for the week should shed more light on whether Hunt is at any risk of missing the Eagles' Week 1 game against Green Bay in Brazil on Friday.

  • Eagles' Jalyx Hunt: Dealing with oblique injury

Hunt did not participate in Thursday's practice due to an oblique injury, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Hunt played in the first two preseason games, during which he accrued seven tackles (five solo). The rookie third-round pick is slated to provide linebacker depth behind starters Josh Sweat and Bryce Huff. It's not yet known if the severity of the injury has Hunt in jeopardy of missing the Eagles' regular-season opener against the Packers on Sept. 6.

  • Eagles' Jalyx Hunt: Philly adds third-round pass rusher

The Eagles selected Hunt in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 94th overall.

Hunt (6-foot-4, 252 pounds) was a non-entity as a recruit and had to take a strange path from Cornell (where he arrived as a defensive back) to Houston Christian, and he wasn't especially productive there given the low level of competition. The reason the Eagles gambled on Hunt anyway is that his rawness might be explained by his inexperience, and he otherwise has excellent athletic tools to work with (4.64-second 40-yard dash, 37.5-inch vertical, 128-inch broad jump). Hunt is now in a race against time to build up his skill set before his developmental window closes.
