Texans' Xavier Hutchinson: Makes four catches against KC
Hutchinson caught four of six targets for 52 yards in Saturday's 23-14 divisional-round loss to Kansas City. He added 56 yards on two kickoff returns.
The second-year wideout put together a career-best game in a losing effort, working as the Texans' No. 2 WR behind Nico Collins, while John Metchie saw only two targets but caught them both for 35 yards. Hutchinson, a sixth-round pick in 2023, managed only a 12-117-0 line on 26 targets over 16 regular-season games, but his ability to contribute on special teams should give him a leg up in the battle for a depth receiver role in 2025, even if Houston adds reinforcements at the position in free agency or the draft.

Texans' Xavier Hutchinson: Key catch in playoff win
Hutchinson caught his lone target for 34 yards in Saturday's 32-12 win over the Chargers in the wild-card round.
The one target was on brand for Hutchinson, but the catch turned out to be a game-changing event. Houston's offense was somnambulant over its first five possessions until quarterback C.J. Stroud found Hutchinson on a third-and-16 to extend a drive. That jump-started the Texans, who went on to score a touchdown and take a 7-6 lead. Hutchinson is locked in at fourth on the depth chart as the Texans prepare for the divisional round, when they face the Chiefs.

Texans' Xavier Hutchinson: One grab in Week 18
Hutchinson caught one of two targets for five yards in Sunday's 23-14 win over Tennessee.
With Houston in playoff-preparation mode and John Metchie placed in the concussion protocol during the game, Hutchinson was allotted a position-high 48 snaps in the regular-season finale. Hutchinson's role in next Saturday's home playoff game against the Chargers could depend on Metchie's status.

Texans' Xavier Hutchinson: Four targets in loss
Hutchinson caught two of four targets in Wednesday's 31-2 loss to the Ravens in Week 17.
Hutchinson, who was given his most targets in five games, experienced an uptick in snap count (39) due to Tank Dell (knee) joining Stefon Diggs (knee) on injured reserve. Hutchinson, John Metchie, Jared Wayne and Robert Woods filled out the depth chart behind No. 1 wideout Nico Collins.

Texans' Xavier Hutchinson: Increase in usage
Hutchinson caught his lone target for nine yards in Saturday's 27-19 loss to Kansas City in Week 16.
Hutchinson was on the field for 34 offensive snaps -- the most in his last four outings -- as John Metchie (shoulder) was inactive for the game. An injury that forced Tank Dell (kneecap) out of Saturday's game could grant more opportunities for Hutchinson going forward, although Robert Woods (34 snaps) was the main beneficiary of that injury Week 16.

Texans' Xavier Hutchinson: Returns to action
Hutchinson caught his lone target for 13 yards in Sunday's 20-12 win over the Dolphins in Week 15.
Hutchinson was back in action after missing one game due to a shoulder injury. He was on the field for just eight offensive snaps and has slipped behind John Metchie (21 snaps) and Robert Woods (24 snaps) on the depth chart.

Texans' Xavier Hutchinson: Practicing fully
Hutchinson (shoulder) practiced in full Wednesday.
Hutchinson missed Week 13 with the injury, but Houston is now coming off its bye week, and he appears ready to play Sunday against the Dolphins. With Nico Collins back healthy alongside Tank Dell, Hutchinson will vie for wideout snaps with John Metchie and Robert Woods.

Texans' Xavier Hutchinson: Not playing Week 13
Hutchinson (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Texans.
Hutchinson will miss his first game of the season after he was a limited participant in practice throughout the week due to the shoulder injury. With Hutchinson donning street clothes Week 13, Robert Woods and Jared Wayne will serve as the Texans' depth receivers behind the starting wideout trio of Nico Collins, Tank Dell and John Metchie.

Texans' Xavier Hutchinson: Questionable due to shoulder injury
Hutchinson (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
Hutchinson's availability is in question following a trio of limited practices. He failed to capitalize while seeing added playing time during Nico Collins' five-game absence due to a hamstring injury earlier this season, as Hutchinson has just 70 receiving yards through 12 games. Additionally, since Collins' return, Hutchinson has fallen behind John Metchie in terms of snaps and targets. Even if Hutchinson suits up, he isn't expected to play a prominent role in a Houston receiving corps led by a healthy Collins.
