Bengals' Jermaine Burton: Records four receptions as rookie
Burton notched four catches on 14 targets for 107 yards over 14 regular-season games in 2024. He added 378 yards on 13 kick returns.
After being selected in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, Burton got limited run in his first pro campaign. He was inefficient in catching balls thrown his way, though he did show an ability to make big plays, as two of his four catches went for over 40 yards. Late in the campaign, Burton took over as the Bengals' primary kick returner and showed significant promise in that role, averaging 29.1 yards per return. The Alabama product was held out of the Bengals' regular-season finale due to an off-the-field event, and though that isn't expected to carry over into next season, Burton was also benched for a game earlier in the 2024 campaign for disciplinary reasons. He'll likely need to make a better impression on and off the field in order to have a chance to grow in the Bengals' offense next year.

Bengals' Jermaine Burton: Won't travel to Pittsburgh
Burton (coach's decision) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Steelers, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Burton won't even travel with the team to Pittsburgh, and it seems as if he's being punished for some sort of off-the-field incident. It's the third time this season that the third-round rookie will be a healthy inactive. Burton will close out the regular season having caught just four of 14 targets for 107 scoreless yards. He also returned 13 kickoffs for 378 yards. Perhaps Burton can get back on the field next week if the Bengals sneak into the playoffs.

Bengals' Jermaine Burton: Goes without target again Monday
Burton played nine of the Bengals' 71 snaps on offense and went without a target in Monday's 27-20 win over the Cowboys.
Burton went without a target for the second game in a row and also saw his playing time on special teams take a hit. After returning five kickoffs for 46 yards in the Week 13 loss to the Steelers, Burton ceded kickoff-return duties to Khalil Herbert on Monday.

Bengals' Jermaine Burton: No targets in Week 13
Burton went without a target while playing two of the Bengals' 62 snaps on offense in Sunday's 44-38 loss to the Steelers. He also returned five kickoffs for 146 yards.
After logging double-digit snaps in both of the previous two contests, Burton saw his role get scaled back coming out of a Week 12 bye. Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Andrei Iosivas were all healthy and served as the Bengals' primary receivers in three-wide sets, leaving little room for Burton to pick up playing time. The third-round draft pick out of Georgia has had a quiet rookie season, suiting up in 10 of the Bengals' 12 games thus far while recording four receptions for 107 yards on 14 targets.

Bengals' Jermaine Burton: One catch in loss
Burton caught one of four targets for eight yards in Sunday's 34-27 loss to the Chargers.
Burton played just 18 of the Bengals' 82 offensive snaps as Cincinnati's No. 4 wideout, behind Ja'Marr Chase (81), Tee Higgins (69) and Andrei Iosivas (56). The rookie receiver has yet to take on a major role in the Bengals' passing attack, recording just four receptions for 107 yards on 14 targets in nine games. Going forward, Burton will likely continue to be the odd man out most weeks barring injuries to the wide receiving corps. The Bengals head into a Week 12 bye before squaring off against the Steelers in Week 13.
