Falcons' Jack Nelson: Bound for Atlanta
The Falcons selected Nelson in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 218th overall.
Nelson started four seasons at Wisconsin, and while he focused on left tackle, he also has experience at right guard. He has the size (6-foot-7, 314 pounds) to make the cut as an offensive tackle in the NFL, and his versatility should make him a valuable depth lineman, even if it takes time before he vies for a starting role.

Falcons' Billy Bowman: Atlanta adds ballhawk in Round 4
The Falcons selected Bowman in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 118th overall.
Bowman (5-foot-10, 192 pounds) is a safety with an incomplete game, but his strengths appear unique enough to make up for his potential limitations. Bowman was a four-year starter at Oklahoma and flew all over the place, but sometimes to a reckless extent. Bowman is eager but a liability in run defense, in part because he sometimes tries to play bigger than he actually is. Bowman might need to rebrand from safety to more of a pure slot corner kind of application, but in that role Bowman would still definitely have the wheels (4.42-second 40-yard dash) to run with receivers. Bowman's greatest appeal is probably his ball-hawking ability -- Bowman returned three interceptions for touchdowns in 2023 and could prove a unique turnover threat in Atlanta.

Falcons' Xavier Watts: Lands with Atlanta
The Falcons selected Watts in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 96th overall.
Watts is a smart, instinctive safety who had one of the most decorated careers in Notre Dame history. Those will have to be his carrying traits in the NFL as he grades as a below-average athlete by the league's standards. Being a two-time All-American despite not being overly toolsy speaks to Watt's knowledge of the game and ability to put himself in the right spot at the right time. In time, he could start at safety alongside Jessie Bates in Atlanta.
