Chargers' Hayden Hurst: Limited participant with ankle injury
Hurst was a limited practice participant Wednesday due to an ankle injury.
Hurst was quiet in Sunday's 26-3 win over Carolina, catching one of two targets for five yards on 52 percent snap share, but the did run a route on 76 percent of Justin Herbert's dropbacks, the second-highest rate on the team (behind WR Quentin Johnston's 90 percent). Hurst's ability to practice Wednesday, even in a limited capacity, suggests he's more likely than not to play this Sunday in Pittsburgh.

Chargers' Joshua Palmer: Dealing with new injuries
Palmer (elbow/calf) didn't practice Wednesday.
Palmer is listed with a new pair of injuries after being questionable last week due to a problem with his knee. He ended up playing in Sunday's 25-3 win over the Panthers, catching both of his targets for 19 yards while playing only 41 percent of snap on offense. It's possible his role will be scaled back again if he ends up playing this Sunday at Pittsburgh.

Chargers' Justin Herbert: Misses practice
Herbert (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday.
Herbert had a "significant limp" after Sunday's 26-3 win over the Panthers, although he didn't miss any snaps after injuring his ankle in the third quarter, per ESPN's Kris Rhim. Coach Jim Harbaugh declined to comment on Herbert's chances of playing this Sunday at Pittsburgh, merely saying that Herbert is already "feeling much better" and Easton Stick is the next man up to start at QB.

Chargers' Justin Herbert: Not seen at practice
Herbert (ankle) wasn't spotted during the initial portion of Wednesday's practice, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Per Popper, Herbert's current ankle issue is on the same side (right) as the plantar fascia injury that the QB dealt with in training camp. Meanwhile Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports that coach Jim Harbaugh noted that Herbert was feeling a lot better Wednesday, while acknowledging that Easton Stick would be in line to fill in Sunday against the Steelers if Herbert doesn't progress enough this week to be available for the contest.

Chargers' Justin Herbert: Dealing with ankle injury
Herbert (ankle) will be listed on Wednesday's injury report and may not be a full participant in practice, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
X-rays on Herbert's lower right leg Monday were negative, but it looks like he did pick up an ankle injury during Los Angeles' 26-3 win over the Panthers in Week 2. The franchise quarterback suffered the injury in the third quarter, but he was able to finish the contest after getting taped up. At this juncture, there's not yet any indication that Herbert is dealing with an injury that could impact his availability Sunday versus the Steelers, but it's possible his effectiveness as a runner could be hampered. Herbert's official practice level Wednesday will provide more clarity on his health.

Chargers' Hayden Hurst: Targeted twice in win
Hurst caught one of his two targets for five yards in Sunday's 26-3 win over the Panthers.
Hurst played 38 of the Chargers 69 offensive snaps Sunday, the most of any Los Angeles tight end. However, Will Dissly played just three fewer snaps and saw one more target than Hurst. The 31-year-old tight end will likely face an uphill battle to see consistent usage in the Chargers passing attack, making him difficult to trust for fantasy production. Hurst and the Chargers will square off against the Steelers in Week 3.

Chargers' Will Dissly: Three grabs against Panthers
Dissly caught all three of his targets for 29 yards in Sunday's 26-3 win over the Panthers.
Dissly led all Chargers tight ends in catches Sunday while playing three fewer offensive snaps than teammate Hayden Hurst. The veteran did not produce much with his opportunities, and he'll likely continue to struggle to produce for fantasy purposes on a run-first team with several tight ends. Dissly and the Chargers are set to square off against the Steelers in Week 3.

Chargers' Joshua Palmer: Minimal production against Panthers
Palmer caught both of his targets for 19 yards in Sunday's 26-3 win over the Panthers.
Through two weeks, Palmer has recorded just four catches for 34 yards. The veteran wideout has yet to establish himself as the Chargers' top option in the passing game, while teammates Quentin Johnston and Ladd McConkey have earned more attention for their roles in the offense. Nonetheless, Palmer will look to take a step forward in Week 3 when the Chargers visit the Steelers.

Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Handles three carries in win
Haskins rushed three times for 11 yards in Sunday's 26-3 win over the Panthers.
Haskins played just five of the Chargers' 69 offensive snaps Sunday, well behind Gus Edwards (33) and J.K. Dobbins (32). With Edwards and Dobbins splitting the majority of work atop the running back depth chart, the 24-year-old Haskins should continue to operate in a similar depth role going forward. The Chargers will visit the Steelers in Week 3.

Chargers' Joey Bosa: Another sack in Week 2
Bosa recorded two tackles (one solo), including 1.0 sacks, in Sunday's 26-3 win over the Panthers.
Bosa was limited to just 14 defensive snaps in the contest due to his back injury, but he was still able to get to Bryce Young for a sack in the third quarter. The 29-year-old will look to increase his workload in Week 3 versus the Steelers. Bosa has compiled nine total tackles (seven solo), including 2.0 sacks, while also forcing a fumble through two contests in 2024.
